This Privacy Policy explains how Syrup, a trading name of New Horizon Code PTY LTD (ABN 61 634 659 804), collects, uses, holds, discloses, stores, and protects personal information in connection with the AI Tools Directory platform, website, listing submission features, automated review systems, manual review processes, account features, communications, and related services.

In this Privacy Policy, “we”, “us”, “our” means New Horizon Code PTY LTD trading as Syrup. “you” means any person who accesses, uses, browses, submits to, lists on, communicates with, or otherwise interacts with the Platform.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to us.

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that we will handle personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected in connection with the Platform, including when you:

  • visit or browse the Platform;
  • create or use an account;
  • submit an AI tool, product, application, service, website, API, extension, agent, or platform for listing;
  • upload screenshots, logos, icons, images, or other assets;
  • request manual review of a denied, restricted, or removed Listing;
  • submit corrections, ownership requests, reports, feedback, reviews, or complaints;
  • communicate with us by email, form, support channel, or other contact method;
  • interact with our search, ranking, analytics, moderation, security, or review systems;
  • use paid, sponsored, promoted, or premium features.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, AI tools, services, or platforms linked from the Platform. Those third parties are responsible for their own privacy practices.

2. What Is Personal Information?

Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information or opinion is true or not and whether it is recorded in a material form or not.

Examples may include your name, email address, IP address, account details, organisation details where they identify you, communications with us, submitted content associated with you, and technical or usage information that can reasonably identify you.

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for operating, securing, improving, moderating, administering, and providing the Platform.

  • account registration details;
  • login and authentication information;
  • Listing submission details;
  • tool name, product name, website URL, and product information;
  • ownership, authority, verification, or affiliation information;
  • manual review request details;
  • denied Listing appeal information;
  • correction requests;
  • takedown requests;
  • intellectual property complaints;
  • privacy requests;
  • support requests;
  • payment, billing, and subscription-related information where paid features are used;
  • communications with us;
  • feedback, reports, complaints, ratings, reviews, or user-generated content;
  • any other information you choose to submit.

You must not provide personal information about another person unless you have lawful authority to do so.

5. Listing Information

When you submit or manage a Listing, we may collect and process information relating to the listed tool, provider, submitter, owner, or authorised representative.

This may include:

  • submitter name and contact details;
  • company or organisation details;
  • website and domain information;
  • product descriptions;
  • categories, tags, features, use cases, pricing information, and claims;
  • submitted URLs;
  • public documentation links;
  • privacy policy and terms links;
  • verification or authority information;
  • moderation history;
  • review outcomes;
  • status history;
  • reports or complaints associated with the Listing;
  • correspondence about the Listing.

Some Listing information may be published publicly on the Platform.

You are responsible for ensuring that any Listing information you submit is accurate, lawful, authorised, and does not contain personal, confidential, sensitive, or third-party information you are not authorised to disclose.

6. Uploaded Screenshots, Logos, Icons, and Assets

The Platform may allow you to upload screenshots, logos, icons, product images, interface captures, promotional graphics, or other media assets.

Uploaded assets may contain personal information if you include names, faces, usernames, email addresses, profile images, messages, account details, customer records, employee records, patient information, financial information, or other identifiable details.

Before uploading any asset, you must ensure that:

  • you have the right to upload and publish it;
  • it does not contain personal information unless you have lawful authority and consent;
  • confidential, sensitive, regulated, or private information has been removed or redacted;
  • screenshots do not expose API keys, access tokens, passwords, secrets, internal URLs, private messages, customer data, client data, patient data, employee data, or other sensitive information;
  • logos, icons, and branding are uploaded lawfully.

We may process uploaded assets for hosting, resizing, cropping, compressing, converting, previewing, caching, moderating, reviewing, displaying, and securing the Platform.

We are not responsible for personal, sensitive, confidential, or third-party information that you choose to include in uploaded assets.

7. Automatically Collected Information

When you access or use the Platform, we may automatically collect technical and usage information, including:

  • IP address;
  • browser type and version;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • screen size and device settings;
  • approximate location derived from IP address;
  • referral URLs;
  • pages viewed;
  • links clicked;
  • search queries;
  • filters used;
  • Listing interactions;

We use this information to operate, secure, improve, monitor, analyse, debug, and protect the Platform.

  • operate the Platform;
  • keep you signed in;

  • understand Listing engagement;
  • measure marketing effectiveness;
  • improve user experience;
  • support paid, sponsored, promoted, or affiliate features;
  • monitor errors and reliability.

You can usually disable cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some Platform features may not function correctly.

Where required, we may request consent for certain cookies or tracking technologies.

9. Analytics, Monitoring, and Performance Tools

We may use analytics, monitoring, logging, security, and performance tools to understand how the Platform is used and to maintain its reliability and security.

These tools may process information such as IP address, device details, browser details, interaction data, page views, technical logs, crash reports, referral sources, and approximate location.

We use this information to:

  • detect suspicious activity;
  • protect the Platform;

  • assess the effectiveness of features, categories, Listings, and search results.

10. How We Use Personal Information

  • operating and providing the Platform;
  • creating and managing accounts;
  • receiving, reviewing, publishing, moderating, restricting, rejecting, removing, or restoring Listings;
  • processing uploaded screenshots, logos, icons, and other assets;
  • conducting automated review and moderation;
  • conducting manual review where requested or required;
  • assessing denied, restricted, or removed Listing review requests;
  • verifying ownership, authority, or affiliation;
  • responding to support requests, reports, complaints, takedown notices, correction requests, and privacy requests;
  • communicating with you about your account, Listings, review status, moderation outcomes, payments, security, legal notices, or Platform changes;
  • detecting, preventing, investigating, and responding to fraud, spam, abuse, harmful content, malicious submissions, security risks, and unlawful activity;
  • enforcing our Terms of Service and other policies;
  • complying with legal obligations;
  • resolving disputes;
  • protecting our rights, users, third parties, property, security, and Platform integrity;
  • improving, testing, maintaining, and developing the Platform;
  • generating analytics, reporting, insights, and aggregated or de-identified data;
  • supporting paid, sponsored, promoted, premium, or affiliate features;
  • processing payments and managing subscriptions where applicable;
  • maintaining business records, audit logs, moderation records, and legal records.

11. Automated Review and Automated Processing

We may use automated systems, algorithms, rules, classifiers, AI-assisted tools, security systems, and moderation systems to process personal information and Listing information.

Automated processing may be used to:

  • review Listings;
  • detect spam, duplicate submissions, suspicious behaviour, or abuse;
  • identify potentially harmful, unlawful, misleading, infringing, or unsafe content;
  • classify Listings by category, tag, use case, or risk indicator;
  • apply review statuses, warnings, labels, restrictions, or moderation queues;
  • detect malware indicators, unsafe URLs, or suspicious assets;
  • prioritise content for manual review;
  • improve search, ranking, discovery, and Platform performance;
  • protect the Platform and users from security threats.

Automated systems may contribute to decisions about whether a Listing is approved, denied, restricted, flagged, deprioritised, removed, or referred for manual review.

Where a Listing is denied, restricted, or removed and manual review is available, you may request manual review in accordance with our Terms of Service and Platform processes.

Automated systems are not perfect and may produce incorrect, incomplete, or unintended results.

12. Manual Review Requests

If you request manual review of a denied, restricted, removed, or flagged Listing, we may collect and process additional information, including:

  • your name and contact details;
  • your relationship to the listed tool;
  • evidence of ownership, authority, or permission;
  • corrected Listing details;
  • supporting documents;
  • correspondence with us;
  • explanation of why the Listing should be approved or restored;
  • moderation history and internal review notes.

We use this information to assess the review request, verify claims, protect the Platform, resolve disputes, and maintain records.

We may retain manual review records for legal, audit, compliance, enforcement, dispute resolution, and Platform integrity purposes.

14. Aggregated and De-identified Information

We may create, use, retain, and disclose aggregated, statistical, anonymised, or de-identified information for analytics, reporting, research, product improvement, security, business planning, marketing, and benchmarking.

Aggregated or de-identified information does not reasonably identify you.

We will take reasonable steps to avoid re-identifying de-identified information except where permitted by law.

15. Direct Marketing

We may send you service-related communications, including account notices, Listing status updates, review outcomes, legal notices, security alerts, payment notices, and Platform updates.

Where permitted by law, we may also send marketing communications about the Platform, new features, paid listing options, promotional opportunities, or related services.

You can opt out of marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link in the relevant communication or by contacting us.

You may still receive non-marketing communications that are necessary for your account, Listings, transactions, legal obligations, or Platform security.

16. When We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

This may include disclosure to the following categories of recipients.

We may disclose personal information to trusted service providers who help us operate, secure, improve, and administer the Platform, including:

Some information you submit may be displayed publicly on the Platform.

This may include:

  • company or organisation name;
  • website URL;
  • product description;
  • screenshots, logos, icons, and uploaded assets;
  • categories, tags, and feature information;
  • pricing information;
  • public contact information you choose to provide;
  • review status indicators, warnings, badges, or labels;
  • user reviews, ratings, or feedback where supported.

You should not submit information for public display unless you are comfortable with that information being publicly accessible.

20. Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructure, financing, sale of assets, business transfer, insolvency process, change of control, or similar transaction, personal information may be disclosed to potential or actual buyers, investors, advisers, counterparties, or successors.

Where reasonably practicable, we will take steps to ensure personal information continues to be handled consistently with this Privacy Policy or applicable law.

21. Overseas Disclosure and International Processing

We are based in Australia, but some service providers, infrastructure providers, contractors, systems, or recipients may be located outside Australia or may process information from outside Australia.

Countries where information may be processed or accessed may include Australia, the United States, and other countries where our service providers or infrastructure providers operate.

Where we disclose personal information overseas, we will take reasonable steps as required by applicable law to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles or otherwise in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

You acknowledge that overseas jurisdictions may have privacy and data protection laws that differ from those in Australia.

However, no method of transmission, storage, hosting, or processing is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for ensuring that any information you submit is safe, lawful, and appropriate for upload.

23. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

  • provide and operate the Platform;
  • maintain accounts and Listings;
  • process review and moderation decisions;
  • respond to requests, disputes, reports, complaints, and legal notices;
  • comply with legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations;
  • enforce our Terms of Service;
  • detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security risks, and unlawful activity;
  • maintain audit, moderation, security, and business records;
  • resolve disputes;
  • protect our legal rights and legitimate business interests.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the context of collection, legal obligations, security needs, operational requirements, and dispute risks.

We may retain certain information after an account is closed or a Listing is removed where reasonably necessary for legal, audit, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, enforcement, backup, or compliance purposes.

Where personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it, subject to legal, technical, backup, archival, and operational requirements.

24. Access and Correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you.

You may also request correction of personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

25. Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of personal information we hold about you.

We will consider deletion requests in accordance with applicable law.

We may retain information where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes;
  • enforce our Terms of Service;
  • protect our legal rights;
  • maintain security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or audit records;
  • complete transactions;
  • maintain backup or archival records;
  • preserve moderation, takedown, or review history;
  • comply with regulatory, accounting, tax, or reporting requirements.

Deletion of personal information may affect your ability to use the Platform or maintain Listings.

Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies and an eligible data breach has occurred, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by law.

28. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a person under 18 without appropriate authority, we may delete or restrict that information.

29. Third-Party Websites and AI Tools

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, AI tools, software products, applications, APIs, platforms, documentation, app stores, repositories, payment pages, privacy policies, and terms.

We are not responsible for the privacy, data handling, security, cookies, tracking, content, or practices of third parties.

Before using any third-party tool or website, you should review that third party’s own privacy policy, terms, data processing practices, security practices, and compliance position.

30. User Reviews, Reports, and Public Contributions

If the Platform allows reviews, ratings, comments, reports, testimonials, corrections, or other public contributions, those submissions may be displayed publicly or shared with relevant parties where appropriate.

You must not include personal information about another person in public contributions unless you have lawful authority to do so.

We may moderate, remove, restrict, or redact public contributions that contain personal, sensitive, confidential, unlawful, misleading, harmful, or inappropriate information.

33. Payment Information

If we offer paid features, payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.

  • subscription status;

34. Do Not Submit Sensitive Information

Unless we specifically request it, you must not submit sensitive information to the Platform.

Where lawful and practicable, you may browse parts of the Platform without creating an account or identifying yourself.

However, we may require identifying information where reasonably necessary to:

  • create an account;
  • submit or manage Listings;
  • request manual review;
  • verify ownership or authority;
  • process payments;
  • respond to legal, privacy, support, or takedown requests;
  • prevent fraud, spam, abuse, or security risks;
  • comply with legal obligations.

36. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Updated versions will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date or last updated date.

Where changes are material and where reasonably practicable, we may provide notice through the Platform, by email, or by another reasonable method.

Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect means you acknowledge the updated policy.
