Submission Guidelines

Effective Date: 3 June 2026

Last Updated: 3 June 2026

These Submission Guidelines set out the standards, requirements, and expectations for submitting AI tools, applications, services, platforms, APIs, agents, extensions, and related products to the AI Tools Directory.

The AI Tools Directory is operated by Syrup, a trading name of New Horizon Code PTY LTD (ABN 61 634 659 804).

These Guidelines apply in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there is any inconsistency between these Guidelines and our Terms of Service, the Terms of Service will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.

By submitting a Listing to the Platform, you agree to comply with these Guidelines.

1. Purpose of the Platform

The Platform is a directory and discovery service for AI-related tools and services.

The purpose of the Platform is to help users discover, compare, and access information about AI tools. The Platform does not operate, own, verify, certify, audit, guarantee, or endorse the third-party tools listed on it.

Listings are provided for general informational purposes only.

Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before accessing, purchasing, integrating, or relying on any listed tool.

2. Responsibility for Submissions

You are responsible for all content you submit to the Platform.

This includes:

  • tool names;
  • company names;
  • product descriptions;
  • URLs;
  • pricing information;
  • categories and tags;
  • screenshots;
  • logos;
  • icons;
  • promotional images;
  • feature claims;
  • security claims;
  • privacy claims;
  • compliance claims;
  • review requests;
  • supporting documents;
  • any other information or material you provide.

You must ensure that all submitted information is accurate, lawful, current, authorised, and not misleading.

3. What Can Be Submitted

We may accept Listings for:

  • AI tools;
  • AI applications;
  • AI agents;
  • AI assistants;
  • AI APIs;
  • AI frameworks;
  • AI developer tools;
  • AI automation tools;
  • AI productivity tools;
  • AI creative tools;
  • AI research tools;
  • AI infrastructure tools;
  • AI model platforms;
  • AI extensions and plugins;
  • AI-enabled software products;
  • AI-related services;
  • other tools or services that we reasonably consider relevant to the Platform.

A tool does not need to be exclusively AI-based, but AI functionality should be a meaningful part of the product or service.

4. General Submission Requirements

All Listings must be:

  • accurate;
  • truthful;
  • clear;
  • current;
  • lawful;
  • relevant to the Platform;
  • submitted with proper authority;
  • suitable for public display;
  • free from malware, unsafe links, or deceptive routing;
  • respectful of intellectual property, privacy, and confidentiality rights.

Listings must not mislead users about what the tool does, who owns it, how it works, what it costs, how safe it is, or what outcomes it can produce.

5. Ownership and Authority

You must only submit a Listing if:

  • you own the tool;
  • you are employed by, contracted by, or authorised by the tool owner;
  • you have permission to submit the Listing; or
  • your submission is otherwise lawful and does not misrepresent your relationship to the tool.

You must not submit a Listing in a way that falsely suggests that you are the owner, developer, authorised representative, official partner, or approved contact for a tool.

We may request evidence of ownership, authority, affiliation, domain control, company employment, agency appointment, or permission before approving, transferring, restoring, editing, or verifying a Listing.

6. Accuracy and Transparency

Listings must clearly and honestly describe the tool.

You must not include:

  • false claims;
  • exaggerated claims;
  • deceptive comparisons;
  • misleading performance statements;
  • fake user numbers;
  • fake reviews or testimonials;
  • fake awards or badges;
  • unsupported security claims;
  • unsupported privacy claims;
  • unsupported compliance claims;
  • misleading pricing information;
  • misleading “free” claims;
  • misleading claims about integrations;
  • misleading claims about availability;
  • misleading claims about accuracy, reliability, or safety.

If a claim is material to a user’s decision, it should be accurate and capable of being substantiated.

7. AI-Specific Representation Rules

Because AI systems can produce inaccurate, biased, harmful, or unexpected results, you must not misrepresent the nature or limitations of your tool.

You must not claim or imply that your tool:

  • is always accurate;
  • is error-free;
  • is unbiased;
  • is risk-free;
  • is suitable for every use case;
  • replaces professional advice;
  • guarantees a specific outcome;
  • guarantees legal, medical, financial, employment, educational, clinical, cybersecurity, or compliance correctness;
  • is safe for high-risk use without appropriate safeguards;
  • complies with laws or standards unless that claim is accurate and supportable.

Where relevant, you should clearly describe:

  • the intended use of the tool;
  • key limitations;
  • whether human review is recommended;
  • whether outputs may be inaccurate;
  • whether the tool is suitable for regulated or high-risk contexts;
  • whether user data may be used for training, analytics, or improvement;
  • any material safety, privacy, or compliance considerations.

9. Screenshots, Logos, Icons, and Media

You may be able to upload screenshots, logos, icons, images, product previews, promotional graphics, or other media for your Listing.

Uploaded media must:

  • be owned by you or properly licensed;
  • be accurate and not misleading;
  • relate directly to the listed tool;
  • be suitable for public display;
  • not infringe copyright, trade marks, design rights, moral rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or confidentiality obligations;
  • not include confidential, private, sensitive, or regulated information unless you have lawful authority to publish it;
  • not include passwords, API keys, access tokens, secret keys, customer records, patient records, employee records, private messages, internal systems, or other sensitive details;
  • not include offensive, abusive, deceptive, unlawful, or harmful content.

Screenshots should show the real tool or product interface. Mockups, concept images, or promotional visuals should not mislead users about the current functionality of the tool.

We may crop, resize, compress, optimise, convert, moderate, reject, remove, or reformat uploaded media.

10. Categories, Tags, and Use Cases

You must select categories, tags, and use cases that accurately describe the tool.

You must not use unrelated, excessive, misleading, or manipulative tags to gain visibility.

We may edit, add, remove, or change categories, tags, labels, and use cases for clarity, consistency, safety, search quality, or Platform integrity.

11. Pricing Claims

If you include pricing information, it must be accurate and not misleading.

You should clearly disclose, where relevant:

  • whether the tool is free, paid, freemium, trial-based, subscription-based, usage-based, enterprise-only, or quote-based;
  • whether a free plan has material limits;
  • whether a free trial converts to a paid subscription;
  • whether pricing excludes taxes, usage fees, setup fees, platform fees, or add-ons;
  • whether pricing varies by region, usage, team size, or feature set.

You must not describe a tool as “free” if meaningful use requires payment, payment details, a paid upgrade, or unavoidable charges, unless that limitation is clearly disclosed.

12. Privacy, Security, and Compliance Claims

You must not make privacy, security, or compliance claims that are false, misleading, outdated, or unsupported.

This includes claims about:

  • encryption;
  • data residency;
  • data retention;
  • data deletion;
  • model training;
  • SOC 2;
  • ISO 27001;
  • HIPAA;
  • GDPR;
  • Australian Privacy Act compliance;
  • security audits;
  • penetration testing;
  • vulnerability management;
  • enterprise readiness;
  • child safety suitability;
  • healthcare suitability;
  • financial services suitability;
  • government suitability.

If you claim that your tool complies with a law, framework, certification, or industry standard, you must have a reasonable basis for that claim.

We may request evidence for compliance, privacy, or security claims.

13. Prohibited Listings

You must not submit a Listing that promotes, facilitates, enables, or links to:

  • unlawful activity;
  • fraud, scams, phishing, or social engineering;
  • credential theft;
  • malware, spyware, ransomware, viruses, worms, trojans, exploit kits, or malicious scripts;
  • unauthorised hacking, security bypassing, vulnerability exploitation, or evasion of access controls;
  • spam, bot abuse, platform manipulation, fake engagement, or mass account creation;
  • unlawful surveillance, stalking, doxxing, harassment, or intimidation;
  • non-consensual intimate imagery or image-based abuse;
  • deepfake abuse, impersonation, or identity misuse;
  • exploitation of children or vulnerable people;
  • hate, extremist, terrorist, or violent conduct;
  • self-harm, suicide encouragement, or eating disorder abuse;
  • unlawful weapons, controlled substances, or other illegal goods or services;
  • tools designed primarily to mislead, deceive, defraud, or harm users;
  • tools that materially misrepresent their functionality, pricing, data practices, ownership, or risks.

We may reject or remove any Listing that creates legal, safety, trust, security, reputational, or Platform integrity concerns.

14. Restricted or Higher-Risk Listings

Some tools may be lawful but higher risk. We may restrict, label, review, deprioritise, or reject Listings involving:

  • medical or clinical decision support;
  • mental health tools;
  • legal advice tools;
  • financial, tax, insurance, or investment tools;
  • employment, hiring, recruitment, or worker monitoring tools;
  • education assessment tools;
  • child-focused tools;
  • tools used in disability, aged care, healthcare, or child safety settings;
  • biometric, facial recognition, emotion recognition, or identity verification tools;
  • surveillance, monitoring, or tracking tools;
  • cybersecurity tools;
  • synthetic media, voice cloning, or deepfake generation tools;
  • tools that automate decisions affecting rights, access, eligibility, safety, or opportunities;
  • tools that process sensitive, regulated, confidential, or vulnerable-user data.

We may require additional disclosures, warnings, evidence, or manual review for higher-risk Listings.

Acceptance of a higher-risk Listing does not mean we endorse, verify, certify, audit, approve, or guarantee the tool.

15. Duplicate, Spam, and Low-Quality Submissions

We may reject, merge, remove, or restrict Listings that are:

  • duplicates;
  • near-duplicates;
  • spam;
  • keyword-stuffed;
  • irrelevant;
  • incomplete;
  • misleading;
  • low quality;
  • automatically generated without meaningful review;
  • submitted repeatedly after denial;
  • submitted to manipulate search, ranking, or visibility;
  • submitted through fake accounts or unauthorised automation.

Repeated spam or abuse may result in permanent restriction from submitting content.

16. Reviews, Ratings, and Testimonials

If the Platform allows reviews, ratings, testimonials, comments, or user feedback, those submissions must be genuine, accurate, and lawful.

You must not submit or encourage:

  • fake reviews;
  • paid reviews without disclosure;
  • incentivised reviews without disclosure;
  • competitor sabotage;
  • employee reviews presented as independent;
  • bot-generated reviews;
  • misleading testimonials;
  • review manipulation;
  • threats, abuse, harassment, or defamatory statements;
  • reviews that include confidential, private, personal, or sensitive information.

We may moderate, remove, restrict, label, or decline to publish reviews and feedback.

17. Automated Review

Submissions may be reviewed using automated systems, rules, classifiers, AI-assisted tools, abuse detection systems, security checks, or other automated processes.

Automated review may assess:

  • content quality;
  • category fit;
  • duplicate submissions;
  • spam indicators;
  • unsafe links;
  • suspicious URLs;
  • malware indicators;
  • misleading claims;
  • impersonation risk;
  • intellectual property risk;
  • prohibited content;
  • privacy risk;
  • uploaded media;
  • incomplete or inconsistent information;
  • prior moderation history;
  • other Platform integrity signals.

Automated systems may approve, deny, restrict, flag, label, deprioritise, or refer a Listing for manual review.

Automated systems may make mistakes and may not identify every issue.

18. Manual Review

Where available, you may request manual review if your Listing is denied, restricted, removed, or flagged.

A manual review request may require you to provide:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • organisation details;
  • your relationship to the tool;
  • evidence of ownership, authority, or permission;
  • corrected Listing information;
  • explanation of why the Listing should be approved or restored;
  • supporting documentation;
  • evidence supporting claims made in the Listing.

Manual review does not guarantee approval or restoration.

We may still deny, restrict, remove, edit, label, or deprioritise a Listing after manual review if we reasonably consider it necessary to protect users, third parties, legal compliance, security, trust, quality, or Platform integrity.

We are not required to provide detailed reasons for every moderation decision, especially where doing so could compromise security, anti-abuse systems, legal position, confidential information, or Platform integrity.

19. Editing of Listings

We may edit Listings for:

  • spelling;
  • grammar;
  • formatting;
  • readability;
  • clarity;
  • categorisation;
  • tag consistency;
  • image formatting;
  • removal of unsupported claims;
  • removal of unsafe, misleading, unlawful, or non-compliant content;
  • compliance with these Guidelines, the Terms of Service, or applicable law.

We may also add warnings, notices, labels, categories, tags, disclaimers, or review statuses.

Editing a Listing does not mean we verify, endorse, certify, or guarantee the tool.

20. Listing Statuses, Labels, and Warnings

We may apply statuses, labels, warnings, badges, or notices to Listings.

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • submitted;
  • pending review;

21. Ranking and Visibility

Your report should include:

  • the Listing URL or name;
  • the issue you are reporting;
  • any supporting evidence;
  • your contact details;
  • whether you are the owner, authorised representative, affected person, or general reporter.

We may investigate and take action where we reasonably consider it appropriate.

We do not guarantee that every report will result in removal, restriction, investigation, response, or action.

False, misleading, abusive, or bad-faith reports may be ignored or restricted.

Where reasonable and appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to respond.

We may act without notice where we reasonably consider immediate action necessary to protect users, third parties, security, legal compliance, evidence, or Platform integrity.

25. Repeated or Serious Violations

Repeated or serious violations may result in stronger enforcement action.

Examples include:

  • submission of unlawful or harmful tools.

Serious violations may result in permanent restriction from the Platform.

26. No Verification or Endorsement

Approval, publication, ranking, review, manual review, automatic review, featuring, sponsorship, or display of a Listing does not mean that we:

  • verify the tool;
  • verify the owner;
  • verify the submitter;
  • verify claims;
  • audit the tool;
  • test the tool;
  • certify the tool;
  • endorse the tool;
  • recommend the tool;
  • guarantee the tool;
  • confirm the tool is safe, lawful, secure, accurate, available, compliant, or suitable.

Users must conduct their own due diligence before using any listed tool.
